  1. Niber Technologies launched NUSPUN, an ingredient brand of electrospun laminates with no intentionally added PFAS.

  2. Arcus platform claims waterproof performance exceeding 10,000mmH₂O; Stratos claims air permeability above 1 CFM — both company claims without independent test data.

  3. Selected brand partners receive laminates from Q4 2026; products expected in autumn/winter 2027 collections.

  4. Niber says it controls the process from formulation through electrospinning to finished laminate.

  5. Future plans include exploring bio-based and lower-carbon polymers.

Niber Technologies has launched NUSPUN, an ingredient brand of electrospun laminates for performance apparel that the company says contains no intentionally added PFAS. Brand partners will receive the laminates from the fourth quarter of 2026, with finished products targeted at autumn/winter 2027 collections.

The launch puts Niber into a membrane and laminate tier currently dominated by expanded PTFE and polyurethane chemistries, much of it tied to fluorinated DWR treatments now facing regulatory restriction. Niber positions NUSPUN as a drop-in alternative for brands reformulating ahead of PFAS phase-outs, though its performance claims remain company data at this stage.

What are the three platforms?

NUSPUN debuts with three product families:

  • Arcus — waterproof protection. Niber says it exceeds 10,000mmH₂O waterproof performance.
  • Ventus — windproof performance combined with water resistance.
  • Stratos — air permeability paired with water resistance. Niber claims air permeability above 1 CFM.

These figures are company claims. The launch material did not include independent test details, so buyers will need third-party verification before committing to specifications.

How does Niber control the supply chain?

The company says its proprietary process covers membrane production through to finished laminates, rather than splitting membrane manufacturing and lamination across suppliers.

"We control every stage of the process, from formulation through electrospinning to the finished laminate," said Jaehyung Park, co-founder of Niber Technologies.

Vertical control of the electrospinning stage matters for sourcing teams because it shortens the traceability chain. If PFAS claims need auditing against upcoming restrictions, a single accountable manufacturer simplifies compliance documentation compared with multi-tier membrane-to-fabric supply.

What comes next?

Beyond the initial platforms, Niber says it plans to explore bio-based and lower-carbon polymers. That roadmap would extend the brand's positioning from chemical compliance into raw-material sustainability, though no timeline or certification framework accompanied the announcement.

The sourcing decision

The launch forces a concrete evaluation for performance-apparel sourcing teams with PFAS deadlines on the horizon. NUSPUN offers a vertically controlled, intentionally PFAS-free laminate option with a Q4 2026 supply date — early enough to feed autumn/winter 2027 lines. The gap buyers must close first: independent validation of the waterproofing and permeability claims, and confirmation of which brand partners have allocation before committing development resources.
